Alaska Leg 1 Day 4 - Fort Maclead

We've finally left for Alaska on June 17. Leg 1 started Great Falls and goes to Fort Maclead AB. After months of planning we were off to the Canadian Border crossing. We had read all sorts of conflicting information about what food you could not bring, how certain items had limited quantities, tariff charges etc. All that turned out to be a mute point.

We waited in line for about 30 minutes before talking to a border guard. All that the border guard asked for was our passports. He had a few questions about guns, how long we planned on being in Canada and if we intended to return to the states with our vehicles. We talked about five minutes to the guard before he waived us through.

The rest trip was uneventful, except for a lot of rain. Just about everyone in our SMART group had washed their RVs and vehicles just prior to leaving. The rain really made dirty mess on everyone's RV.

We arrived at Fort Maclead late in the afternoon after traveling about 220 miles. Nothing really to take pictures of, just miles and miles of flat land. Alberta looks a lot like our mid-west states. On the next Leg we'll stop at 'Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump'.
